The Church’s ministry to our youngest children
HOPE is the Orthodox Church’s ministry for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Its purpose is to help our youngest children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and experience themselves as active participants in the life of His Church.
Through age-appropriate opportunities for worship, fellowship, service and learning, children begin building friendships within their parish family while growing in the Orthodox Christian Faith.
HOPE is more than a children’s social group. The Archdiocese describes its youth programmes as ministries of the Church rather than clubs or organisations: their purpose is to strengthen young people’s relationship with Jesus Christ and help them become active sacramental participants in the life of the Church.
Families are part of HOPE, too
At this age, children’s participation in the life of the Church is closely connected with their families. Parents and families are encouraged to take part in parish worship and community life alongside their children, so that the Faith experienced at church becomes part of everyday family life.

Families with children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade are welcome. Gatherings and activities would be announced through the parish calendar and parish communications.
