Read more →We are a parish of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey, serving Orthodox Christians across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford and King George.
The community began as a small group of families meeting where they could, and grew into the church that stands today on Spotswood Furnace Road. Its name — the Nativity of the Theotokos — marks the birth of the Mother of God, celebrated each September the eighth.
Today the parish is a mix of families with Greek roots going back generations, Orthodox Christians who moved to the area for work or the military, and converts who found their way here from other traditions. That mix is the ordinary condition of an American Orthodox parish, and it is a good one.

Those elected to serve the parish
The Parish Council is elected by the stewards of the parish and serves alongside Fr. John in caring for its temporal affairs — the buildings, the finances, the hospitality, and the work of the parish committees. Council members are parishioners, not staff, and are glad to be asked questions.
