Parish announcements
Notices from the office, the Council and our ministries — Sunday School news, a specific ask for volunteers, a parish event, ordinary parish business. Each one can carry a date after which it comes down on its own.

An urgent announcement sorts to the front of this grid and takes the red rule, so it is not read as ordinary parish business. It is meant for a weather closure, a service moved at short notice, or a death in the parish family. Set "urgent": true on an entry in data/parish-announcements.json.

Announcements run newest first, each under a label saying what kind of notice it is, and each one can carry a date after which it comes down by itself rather than piling up. Nothing on this page is a real parish announcement yet; these two entries exist to show the Parish Council the shape of the thing.
Announcements would be posted by the parish office, each with a date after which it disappears on its own — so the page never shows a notice about an event that has already happened. Who may post, and what needs approval, is a decision for Fr. John and the Council.
Stay connected
Parish life carries on through the week — a service on a weekday evening, a Philoptochos meeting, a work day at the church, a family in need of help. Most of it is passed on by word of mouth on a Sunday, which works well if you were there and not at all if you weren't.
Two things would close that gap. Neither exists today; both are here for Fr. John and the Council to consider.
In the meantime, The Light is published monthly, and the parish posts to Facebook and YouTube.
A place to talk, and a note in your inbox
A private parish group — for parishioners, moderated, and not a public page — where the ordinary business of the week can be shared. And a short parish email for those who would rather not join anything.
Both buttons are inert. There is no parish group and no mailing list, and no destination has been invented for them.
Serve & get involved
Every ministry of this parish is run by parishioners, and every one of them welcomes newcomers. You do not need to have been here long, and you do not need to be asked twice. Speak to a ministry at coffee hour, or write to the parish office and we will put you in touch.
The ministries page is the full list — Sunday School, GOYA and JOY, the Ladies' Philoptochos Society, the Dance Troupe, AHEPA, the Parish Council, and those who serve in the divine services.
Current volunteer needs
A short, honest list of what the parish actually needs help with this month — a name attached to each, and each one removed once it is filled. A general invitation to serve is easy to agree with and easy to walk past; a specific ask is neither.
Inert. No volunteer needs have been supplied, and none have been invented.
Stewardship & giving
Stewardship is one of the ways we offer back to God from the gifts He has entrusted to us, and take part in the life and work of our parish. It is not dues: it is the offering by which the parish exists — the divine services, the building, the Sunday School, and the charity given away in the parish's name.
Registering your family is the first step to being counted as a steward, and to joining any ministry.
Ways to give
Online giving and memorial donations go through the parish's existing Square pages. Cheques may be posted to the parish office.
The annual stewardship pledge will link from here once the parish confirms where it should point.
Children & families
During the school year, children attending Sunday School leave for class after Holy Communion has been served and stay in class until coffee hour, when they rejoin their families in the hall.
GOYA and JOY are the parish's youth ministries. Details of what each is doing this term come from the ministries themselves; ask at coffee hour or write to the parish office.

The Sunday School classes and registration are on the Sunday School page. A term calendar and this year’s youth programming are not published here, because they have not been confirmed. They belong on this page once they are.
