Orthodox Christianity is not a denomination that broke away from something. It is the continuous life of the Church founded at Pentecost, holding the same faith, the same sacraments and the same worship across twenty centuries.
That continuity is what a visitor feels first: the hymns, the icons, the fasting seasons, the shape of the year. None of it is nostalgia. It is the ordinary practice of a Church that never stopped.
